As promised, I am going to talk a little bit about upcoming Valentine's Day 2009. In the past, I haven't made a huge deal out of Valentine's Day. I grew up in a house where my father made it clear that he wasn't falling prey to Hallmark and shelling out for stupid gifts on such a commercialized (or as he put it, "fabricated") holiday. Luckily, I also grew up in a house where my mom always got little hearts filled with chocolates for me and my brothers... so I'm not totally opposed to celebrating. This year, I decided that I was going to do something extra special for Mark. He has been good to me this year and I wanted to take the opportunity (and the long weekend) to show a little appreciation.So I have planned an overnight adventure and am keeping it a secret. Starting today, Mark will receive a clue every day until the day we leave - seven clues! I don't think he'll really be able to figure out where exactly we're going but at least these little teasers will get him excited!
I gave him his first clue today. It was an apple (the fake kind you buy at craft stores) and a picture of a very pretty apple blossom. I'm posting all the pictures of Mark opening his clue because I am very proud of my presentation/wrap job! :) Hmmm, I wonder what we are doing?!
