For many college students, building a beer pong table is almost the same as creating a piece of art. Theme, style and construction must all be considered. There are even entire web sites dedicated to showcasing the most creative, well-made, beautiful and craziest of tables.
During my days in college, I masterminded one beer pong table and assisted with the creation of several others. Pictured to the left is the table that me and my two best girlfriends made for our guy friends. We spent two days sawing, measuring, painting and lacquering... with great results, I might add. At the top of this post is the beer pong table Mark and his roommate created while in graduate school (I can't find a picture of the whole thing but it was a meticulous recreation of the UVA football field.)
This past weekend, I returned to my alma mater to visit some friends who are still in graduate school there. While I was there I was reminded of the great art of creating an impressive pong table.Originally, my friend John had a beautiful beer pong table made of bottle caps that created a "V" pattern on both ends. It was quite impressive. Alas, that table was destroyed by a careless reveler during a night of drinking. (Can't find a picture of it either, so John, if you feel so inclined...)
Anyway, this weekend we got to see his brand new table! He has been painstakingly collecting labels for months to make a new table made up entirely of beer labels. Here is the glorious outcome:
