Missing Friends

Last weekend I trekked out to Virginia Beach for a sorority sister's wedding. The trip was a blast! I went down on Friday night with my roommate/sorority sister Sarah and another srat sister Dani. We stayed at LeeAnn's (another Gamma Phi sister) dad's house. They live in a gorgeous house on the water and we stayed up in their living room next to the fireplace drinking wine until 2:30 a.m.!

The next day we spent eating breakfast, getting mani/pedis at the nail salon and then going to The Baker's Crust for lunch (mmm). We checked into the hotel, The Marriot at City Center in Newport News, and started getting ready (with a little champagne) for the wedding! The ceremony was in a really pretty church about a five minute drive from the hotel. It was gorgeous - there were lots of white flowers and candles and the bride, of course, looked wonderful. This wedding was the first where I kind of felt like we were all getting older...it brought a tear to my eye.

The reception was a blast and ended all too quickly! I was at a table with my best friends from college: Mark, Steph, Sarah, Dani, LeeAnn, LeeAnn's boyfriend John (I set them up! He works with me!), Stephen, and Stephen's fiance Megan. It was so nice to catch up with all of them again and laugh and be silly. It almost felt like a date function in college - we all would've been together then too (minus John)! It made me realize how much I miss them. Even though I live with Sarah and really close to Mark and LeeAnn; it's partially the dynamic of the whole group together that makes it fun.

After the reception we headed to a bar near the hotel and continued the party and a bunch of us got together for brunch the next morning. It was sad to part ways with everyone. Hopefully someone else will get married really soon so we can all see each other again! That is the best thing about being in the wedding season of life! :)
