I managed to get to work on time but have spent most of the day sort of drifting between tasks without actually completing anything. Part of my lack of productivity can be attributed to Alexis Stewart's blog. Yesterday, I spent my lunch hour perusing the Martha Stewart web site in search of more Valentine's Day inspiration (more on that subject later) and came across a link to
Whatever, Martha!, a show where Martha's daughter, Alexis, and her friend, Jennifer, make fun of old episodes of The Martha Stewart Show. After looking around their site and watching a few clips (hilarious) I clicked the link to Alexis and Jennifer's blogs. By chance, I started reading Alexis's first. I. am. hooked. First of all, she cooks and bakes all the time... just looking at the pictures of the things she whips up on a regular basis makes my mouth water. Second of all, she wraps up everything she makes in the most adorable little paper packages and boxes with ribbon and labels. I love it. Third of all, she is a real person... her blog is very open about her life and opinions and she doesn't try to be some perfect image of herself. Check it out for yourself! (Originally, in my mind, I confused Alexis Stewart with another child with a famous mother - Cher's daughter, Chastity. I don't really know why. I guess this just goes to show how out of it I am.)The highlight of today was when I recieved a response to my email asking Mark to tell me where the spare key to his house is kept so I could go by and pick up my purse before he gets home from work (yes, the key i have to his house is also in my purse). He wrote back "im really busy today and cant explain where the key is but its between two plastic plant pots. the treasure map might help." Below is the "treasure map" he attached to the email. Busy, indeed! Mark really is hilarious. :)
